We were honored to be joined by The Queen’s Bench Bar Association Board of Directors recently gathered for our annual Board Retreat and private leadership induction ceremony at Fang Restaurant in San Francisco, marking the official beginning of the 2026 bar year. The evening provided an opportunity for incoming and returning leaders to reflect on our mission, strengthen relationships, and establish priorities for the year ahead.
We were honored to be joined by Judge Monica F. Wiley, who presided over our private induction ceremony. Her thoughtful remarks underscored the importance of service, integrity, and leadership within the legal profession, setting an inspiring tone for the year ahead.
The retreat also served as the Board's first strategic planning for 2026. Board members engaged in collaborative discussions focused on strengthening member engagement, enhancing professional development opportunities, expanding leadership pathways for members, preserving the organization’s history. The Board also discussed the continuation of the Centennial Modernization Project, a strategic plan initiated by our 2021 Centennial Celebration to fortify our digital infrastructure and online resources for members. The Board prioritized a roadmap for the bar association's continued evolution remaining grounded in its longstanding commitment to advancing women in the legal profession.
The Board was especially grateful to welcome Carol Salvagione, Foundation Director and Past President, who joined the retreat to share her institutional knowledge and perspective. Drawing on her years of leadership, Carol offered valuable guidance on governance best practices, organizational traditions, and strategies for building sustainable leadership that will benefit future generations of Queen’s Bench members.
The retreat reflected one of Queen’s Bench’s greatest strengths: leaders from different generations coming together to share ideas, preserve our history, and chart a course for the future. As we begin the calendar year, the Board look forward to building on this momentum through meaningful programming, professional development, community partnerships, and opportunities for our members to connect, lead, and serve. Here’s to another year of leadership, collaboration, and advancing the legacy of Queen’s Bench.
